For some reason, I love games with a tech tree that I can build out. Whether I’m playing Civilization on my computer or the tabletop version, one of my favorite things to do is research new technologies. So when I heard about a game that’s centered around this feature, I was hooked. Progress: Evolution of Technology, our newest Kickstarter of the Week, is a card driven game that focuses on the development of technologies throughout history. In the game, players will be researching and building up technology from the ancient times through the first Industrial Revolution.

Technologies emerged in the very early stages of human history as an expression of the evolution of the human mind. Sir Arthur C. Clarke said that “any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic” and yet here we stand, a civilization built on the knowledge and technologies of our predecessors. This is your chance to experience a walk through mankind’s history of progress. You will forge your nation’s path not through magic, but through technology.
Progress: Evolution of Technology is a card driven civilization game with focus on the development of technologies from the ancient times to the first industrial revolution. Each player guides his nation’s research efforts through a maze of technologies from the earliest signs of human development, moving progressively through the Antiquity, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance until the first sparks of the Industrial Revolution.

Progress: Evolution of Technology has already more than doubled its funding goal and is trending towards the six-digit range. The campaign page has more information on how the game plays, as well as video reviews for you to get an outside opinion. If you’d like to become a backer, a $45 pledge will get you a copy of the game and all stretch goals.
