A while ago we did a review of a decent dice rolling game called Scripts & Scribes: The Dice Game. Published by Dr. Finns Games, Scripts & Scribes was a fun little game, but not without its flaws. One of my biggest complaints about the game was with the bland components. It seems that Dr. Finn has taken that criticism to heart as he’s back on Kickstarter with a revised version of Scripts & Scribes, now called Biblios Dice. This new edition looks much, much better and also contains a few tweaks.
From the Kickstarter Page:
Biblios Dice is a dice adaptation of the popular game Biblios. As in Biblios, players assume the role of medieval abbots seeking to establish the most prestigious scriptorium by reproducing and illustrating valuable manuscripts. The artwork contains a wide variety of brilliant colors and the dice will be etched, providing an aesthetically pleasing effect to a fun and thoughtful gaming experience. It is for 2-5 players and it lasts about 40 minutes.
I’m glad he decided to take another stab at this dice rolling game as Biblios Dice seems to be a much needed upgrade. If you’d like to get in on the action, a $30 pledge will get you a copy of the game, with other buying options if you want to include some of his other game’s with your pledge. Biblios Dice is scheduled to be in backers hands in June of 2015 and you have until Tuesday, December 23rd to become a backer. So head over today and give it a look.
