Last year some time we did a preview for a fun little card game call Gothic Doctor that was on Kickstarter. For whatever the reason was, Gothic Doctor ended up not funding during its campaign. That was a shame because it really was an enjoyable card game. Well I’m happy to see that Meltdown Games is back on Kickstarter with a revised Gothic Doctor campaign and this time they’ve already hit their funding goal. If you want to know the full specifics on the game, you can check out the preview we did for Gothic Doctor, but basically Gothic Doctor is a quick playing set collection game with a unique theme.
From the Kickstarter Page:
In Gothic Doctor, a standalone card game for 2-4 players, you take on the role of physician in a practice that caters to the monsters and miscreants of Victorian literature. Play cards from your hand to treat patients and affect game play. Choose your patients wisely to maximize your profits. But beware – your fellow physicians are out for themselves and will sabotage your best efforts to ensure their own success. Can you make these patients’ misfortune your opportunity – and earn more than your competition?
In addition to ours, there are a number of reviews linked to the campaign page if you want to see what other people think. Or you can check it out yourselves as they have a print and play version you can download. If you’d like to become a backer, a $25 pledge will get you a copy of the game and all applicable stretch goals. Gothic Doctor is scheduled to be in backers hands in February of 2015 and you have until Wednesday, July 23rd to become a backer. So head over today and check it out.
