Last November when Asomdee owned Fantasy Flight Games announced the move of their miniatures game over to Atomic Mass Studios, fans weren’t quite sure what to expect. Atomic Mass Games was known for the Marvel Crisis Protocol skirmish game, but not much else. Yet since then, they haven’t excitably been idle, with new releases announced for Marvel Crisis Protocol, Star Wars X-Wing, and Star Wars Legion.
Yet fans of their capital ship game, Star Wars Armada, received some sad news yesterday. On their Twitter feed yesterday, Atomic Mass Games announced that no new Star Wars Armada products are currently in development for at least 2021 or 2022. Yet not all is lost as they did state that they are still reprinting previous releases, and also supporting organized play. So Star Wars Armada doesn’t seem to be quite dead yet, but without a roadmap for future offerings, one has to wonder if the game is simply on life support.
From their Twitter post:
“As we move into 2022 and beyond, we are excited to continue support of Star Wars: Armada by prioritizing reprints of existing products and through Organized Play initiatives. However, we currently do not have any new Armada products in development. We will provide additional information as it becomes available.”
Fantasy Flight Games also previously announced that there will be no more new releases for their much-loved Star Wars Imperial Assualt game.
There’s so much potential for this game now, so many new ships can be made, if not that then at least keep ones already made in stock,
